Journeyman Electrician
Lipan Services is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Journeyman Electrician to support electrical construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting operations in industrial and oilfield environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving ability, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, bend, and support RMC, EMT, and cable tray systems.
Terminate power, control, and instrumentation circuits in junction boxes, panels, MCCs, and distribution equipment.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-lines, panel schedules, and loop diagrams.
Support new construction, upgrades, retrofits, and preventative maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot AC/DC control circuits, including relays, contactors, overloads, starters, breakers, fuses, and power supplies.
Diagnose electrical distribution and equipment issues involving transformers, grounding and bonding, phase loss/imbalance, and voltage drop.
Troubleshoot and support MCC buckets, VFDs, soft starters, and panel-mounted instrumentation and controls.
Safely use test equipment to identify faults and verify repairs, including insulation resistance testing.
Perform work around overhead and underground power distribution systems and replace fuses as required.
Support electrical systems at tank batteries, SWDs, injection sites, production facilities, compressor stations, and well sites.
Support power and control components associated with SCADA and PLC systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid Journeyman Electrician License (required).
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience in industrial and/or oil and gas electrical environments.
Strong understanding of electrical theory (AC/DC, Ohm’s Law, kW/kVA, motor theory) and common single- and three-phase power systems.
Ability to troubleshoot independently and communicate findings and corrective actions.
Experience working safely around energized equipment; strong arc flash and shock hazard awareness.
Experience with transformers, MCCs, VFDs, and oilfield electrical equipment.
Ability to work outdoors, in industrial settings, and at remote locations.
Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and leadership skills, including mentoring apprentices.
